with... Mechanism of Action Montair 10 mg is a leukotriene CysLT1 receptor
antagonist that opposes with high affinity and selectivity to the type of
protein called cysteinyl leukotrienes (especially LTD4) which Pharma airways.
This activity prevents the physiological actions of leukotrienes, compounds
that cause asthma and allergic rhinitis. Montair 10 mg decreases bronchoconstriction and inflammation by inhibiting leukotriene-mediated
reactions.
Dosage and
Administration
- Adults and
Adolescents (15 years of age or older): One 10 mg tablet taken orally once daily in the evening.
- Pediatric
Patients (6 to 14 years): The recommended dose is one 5 mg ORALLY DISINTEGRATING
TABLET daily at bedtime.
- The dose age
may be taken with or without food
Adverse
Reactions Adverse effects of Montair 10 mg include Headache Abdominal pain Flu-like
symptoms Dizziness Uncommon but severe side effects can include: Agitation,
mean of aggression (such as physically attacking others), hallucinatory
behavior, depression Allergic rashes, itching/swelling (especially of the
face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, and breathing difficulties.
Contraindications One Patient Discontinuation No patient discontinued treatment
due to being allergic - Montair 10 mg is not indicated in patients with a
history of hypersensitivity to any drug.
