Lomuthar
40 Capsule contains lomustine which is an alkylating agent that enters the
brain and injures DNA as oxygen radicals; this injury down-regulates or alters
MDR-1 translational products involved in drug resistance. Lomustine binds to
DNA, inducing cross-linking and breakage. By binding directly to the DNA of
cancer cells, metalating their DNA strands, this prevents the processes
from continuing and inhibits both replication of the DNA as well as blocking
transcription of RNA into proteins. Lomustine is lipophilic and can cross the
blood-brain barrier, making it an option for treating brain tumors.

such as procarbazine and vincristine (BEACOPP regimen), making the overall
response rate increase.
Dosage: In LC, as with LC it is administered in cycles scheduled periods
of administration (more or less long) dye followed by an end-of-course rest that

Common Side Effects
